If you love history and culture just like I do, located in Kent England, is one of the most famous castles called Hever castle. Hever castle is known as one of Henry the eighths wife Annebolyns house. Before your visit, you have to book your tickets online on the Hever Castles website. Of course PA’S / companions go for free. The ground and gardens are absolutely stunning. Unfortunately the castle isn’t wheelchair accessible which is frustrating of course but there is so much to do and explore.

There’s a disabled car parking space right outside the castle and as you go into the gardens, you’ll see gorgeous bushes alongside the paths carved into different types of Animals. You can even feed the ducks in the river over the bridge.

The court yard is completely wheelchair friendly there are steps but the people who work. there built ramps for wheelchair users which is amazing that the staff there think about people with limited mobility and people with disabilities. This is what we want isn’t it?

On the other side of the castle there is a huge river. Sometimes the staff takes boats out on to the river the boats are even wheelchair friendly. Personally I haven’t been on one of them. before but next time I will deffinetly do a review on it.

As well as. beautiful gardens and rivers there is also a cafe where you can just sit down, relax and wind down with. a cup of tea or coffee. whichever tickles your fancy. You can sit there and even enjoy the beautiful views and you can even have. a bite to eat.

Overall, I would rate Hever Castle’s accessibility 7 out of 10. The accessible facilities and beautiful gardens make it an enjoyable destination for many disabled visitors, but the unavoidable restrictions inside the historic castle prevent it from being fully accessible. If your main aim is to explore the gardens and grounds, you are likely to have a positive experience. However, if visiting every room inside the castle is your priority, the accessibility limitations are worth considering before booking. Otherwise, its the perfect day out for children of all ages due to the. amount of history there is there and I wouldn’t reccmmend it enough.
